SEACOAST HOSPICE has named JANET HALL, CHPN, manager of its HYDER FAMILY HOSPICE HOUSE, a new residential facility in Dover, scheduled to open in March. Hall, a certified hospice and palliative care nurse, has an extensive background in nursing including 11 years in home care and hospice services. She has been working with Seacoast Hospice since February 2006 as a consultant on the operational plans and design of the Hyder House. Before joining Seacoast Hospice, Hall served as director of hospice at ANDROSCOGGIN HOME CARE AND HOSPICE in Lewiston, Maine. She was also manager of the organization's HOSPICE HOUSE, Maine's first facility for the terminally ill. Her background includes positions in staff nursing, and home and hospice care at facilities in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

At a recent board meeting, Seacoast Hospice also elected three new members to its board of directors. Elected to serve three-year terms were DR. PETER VREES, MARY NUTTER, RN, and HOLLIE NOVELETSKY, ARNP. The REV. RICHARD SIENER was re-elected to a three-year term. The following officers were also elected: TARA TRAFTON, chairman; RICHARD CUTTER, vice chairman; KATHY TAYLOR, treasurer; and DENISE POULOS, secretary. Continuing to serve on the board are DR. MARK HENSCHKE, JOHN HOPKINS, CHRISTINE M. ST. JEAN, and JUSTINE VOGEL.

JOHN RICE was inducted as the 2007 SEACOAST BOARD OF REALTORS president during a recent holiday party at the Sheraton Hotel. He was presented with the ceremonial gavel by BONNIE GUEVIN, New Hampshire Realtors state president and he thanked outgoing president SUSAN FULLER and past president PENNY WOOD for their encouragement and mentoring. Rice has been a Realtor for more than 30 years and is associated with TATE & FOSS in Rye.

HERMAN P. LATURNAU has been appointed chief executive officer of FRED C. CHURCH insurance. His responsiblities will include the supervision of 11 offices in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, managing a professional staff of more than 140, and maintaining relationships with more than 35 insurance companies. Laturnau is a graduate of DARTMOUTH COLLEGE and recevied his MBA from the UNIVERSITY OF NEW HAMPSHIRE. He resides in Londonderry with his wife, Mary, and daughters Allison and Lindsey.

DENNIS SASSEVILLE of WELLFLEET ASSOCIATES recently was elected chairman of the board of the INSTITUTE FOR COMMUNITY, BUSINESS AND THE NEW HAMPSHIRE ECONOMY, a support organization of the BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION. Sasseville replaces TOM BURACK, who was recently appointed commissioner of the N.H. Department of Environmental Services. Sassville has been a member of the BIA since 1983, including as a board member for eight years and past chairman of the Environmental Affairs Committee. In addition to Sasseville, the Institute's current board of directors includes STEVE CAMERINO, PATRICIA CARRIER, MIKE DONAHUE, GERARDINE FERLINS, RICHARD MALONEY and JIM ROCHE.

EXTENDED FAMILY, a Portsmouth-based company that provides in-home care to seniors, and promotes healthy aging with continued engagement in life, recently hired LINDA CHAMPAGNE as its network director, and LAUREN CHAFFEE as its business and communications manager.

Champagne, who holds a master's degree in education, comes from an extensive background in psychology, education, and holistic therapy. She now offers her services to Extended Family, helping recruit new members, training staff and caregivers, and giving insight on the future of the soon-to-be-franchised company. She has presented stress management seminars at community centers, hospitals, businesses, and schools, teaching the importance of taking responsibility for the direction of one's life. Chaffee comes to Extended Family with her marketing, accounting, and office management skills, after working for seven years in the Boston-area architecture industry. She now helps the Portsmouth organization with public relations, operations, and research for franchise plans.

DR. CHRISTOPHER COUTURE of ACCESS SPORTS MEDICINE AND ORTHOPAEDICS recently provided a presentation to THE NEW HAMPSHIRE EXTENSION OF CASE MANAGEMENT SOCIETY OF NEW ENGLAND. Dr Couture spoke to a group of 25 CMSNE members. This talk was given as part of a continuing education program and centered on the discipline of sports medicine and its role in work-related injury management.

Dr Couture is the newest physician at Access Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics. He has additional training in sports medicine and specializes in the evaluation and non-surgical treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, as well as non-orthopaedic sports medicine conditions such as asthma and concussions. Dr Couture is the director of the Concussion Program at Access Sports Medicine. He lives in Newfields with his wife and daughter.

At its recent annual breakfast meeting, the TENANTS ASSOCIATION AT PEASE elected members and appointed officers to the organization's 2007 board of directors. Also known as TAP, the association is composed of businesses located at Pease International Tradeport, the area's world-class business and aviation industrial park.

ANNE PELLETIER, director of marketing for Daystar Computer Services Inc., was re-elected to a new term and voted president for the 2007 calendar year. MARIA MINICKIELLO, assistant director and graduate adviser for Southern New Hampshire University, was elected to her first term and simultaneously assumed the office of vice president. PHIL DECKER, a lawyer with Mesmer & Deleault, PLLC, was re-elected to a new term and continues to serve as the organization's treasurer. Also re-elected to a new term was HEATHER MILLER, account executive for Fred C. Church Insurance. Miller serves as TAP secretary. Elected to their first terms were at-large board members ALLISON TUFTS, branch manager with Bonney Staffing Center, and BETH GOODSELL, director of administration at Public Consulting Group's Portsmouth office.
