Portsmouth Regional Hospital announced that Amanda Packard, clinical specialist in cardiopulmonary physical therapy, has been named the 2005 Frist Healthcare Humanitarian Award recipient and Eleanor Pearsall, emergency department volunteer, has received the Volunteer Humanitarian Award. Packard of Amesbury, Mass., joined the hospital’s inpatient physical therapy department in December 1999. Pearsall of Eliot, Maine, began her healthcare career in the 1940s as a Candy Striper at the old Portsmouth Hospital. She went on to receive her nursing degree from Lynn Hospital and worked as a nurse for several years.

Joanne M. Small has been promoted to officer at TD Banknorth Maine in Kittery. As customer sales and service manager, she will continue to manage sales, including mortgages and term life insurance, and oversee day-to-day operations of the branch located at 30 State Road in Kittery. Small joined TD Banknorth in 1991 and has 26 years in banking. She previously has served as a customer service rep and a teller. An Eliot resident, Small volunteers as the chairperson of Boy Scouts Troop 340 in Eliot. She is a graduate of Marshwood High School.

Greg Gosselin received the prestigious RE/MAX Platinum Club Award at the RE/MAX International Convention in Las Vegas. An estimated 10,000 RE/MAX members attended the gathering. As designated broker/owner of RE/MAX Seacoast Region in Kennebunk, Maine, Gosselin said he was “deeply honored to be recognized for his work and to be part of a world-class organization.” An active community leader, he is vice president for Habitat for Humanity York County and is on the board of directors for The Housing Partnership, American Red Cross/Southern Maine and Kennebunk-Kennebunkport Chamber of Commerce. Greg is passionate about workforce housing and is involved in the development of workforce housing on Shape Road in Kennebunk.

Michael Asselin was elected to the board of trustees of Piscataqua Savings Bank. Asselin is a Certified Public Accountant with Cummings, Lamont & McNamee and served as a Corporator of Piscataqua Savings Bank prior to his appointment to the Board of Trustees. As a member of the Portsmouth Rotary Club, Asselin served as treasurer for five years and President in 2000-2001. Asselin has been a member of the Rotary Club for 24 years.

The Business and Industry Association of New Hampshire recently elected George Gantz as a board officer. Gantz is a senior vice president with Unitil Corp. of Hampton. Previous to the election, Gantz served as a chair on BIA’s board.

The New Hampshire Marital Mediation Board has certified Rebecca Myers as a marital mediator. Myers has been contracted to work for the Brentwood Family Court, and Strafford County Superior Court as a senior certified marital mediator. Myers also offers private mediation for families at the Patti Blanchette Professional Association, where she has worked as a family law paralegal for the past 13 years. Myers is one of three certified marital mediators employed by the Blanchette group.

Ocean National Bank announced the promotion of investment manager Michael J. Hanlon to vice president. Hanlon previously worked with Fidelity Investments, Altura International and TD Banknorth. Hanlon, a resident of Kittery, Maine, is a board member of the Maine CFA Society, a member of the CFA institute and Boston Security Analysts Society. He is a former board member of Connections for Kids and has volunteered as a Junior Achievement teacher.

The Homemakers Health Services has appointed Jeff Taylor to its board of directors. Taylor has been the chief operating officer of Eastern Propane Gas of Rochester since 2000. Taylor also serves on the board of National Propane Gas Association, as the representative for New Hampshire.

The Massachusetts Academy of Family Physicians recognized Lyle G. Bohlman as the 2006 Family Physician of the Year. Bohlman, a resident of Kittery, Maine, serves as medical director of McFadden Manor Nursing Home and chief of family medicine at Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford, Mass. Bohlman also serves on the medical executive committee, secretary of the LMH medical staff, chairman of the MassAFP committee on clinical & professional affairs, and associate director of the Tufts University Family Medicine Residency. Bohlman volunteers his time at the Sharewood Project, a free clinic that’s linked with a soup kitchen that serves Malden’s homeless and most needy residents.

Robert Wester was announced as the vice president of operations at the Northeast Credit Union. Wester previously held senior level positions at Washington Mutual Bank., First New Hampshire Bank and New Hampshire Savings Bank.Wester has also served on the Bow School Board and the Bow Budget Committee.

Blind Dog Photo Inc. of Kittery, Maine, announced the addition of Iris Burke to its digital services department. Blind Dog Photo Inc. is a commercial photography studio that specializes in architectural, food and product photography. Burke is a 2006 graduate of the Maine College of Art.

The New Hampshire Dental Society awarded Richard Liu, DMD with the Charles T. Lambrukos, DMD Memorial Award for his dedication to dental education. Liu volunteers his time to teach cosmetic dentistry to students at Harvard and Tufts Dental Schools. Liu is a prosthodontic specialist with a practice in Portsmouth.
