In an ongoing commitment to provide its members and the communities it serves with exceptional products and services to enhance their financial well-being, NORTHEAST CREDIT UNION (NECU) recently announced its new Web site redesign located at www.necu.org. Visitors to the Web site can now experience an easy-to-navigate new look, along with many updated features and improved functionality.

From the home page, members can find what they need quickly through the new "Find it Fast" and "Search" features. Members can also log on to access online account information, look for special offers from NECU and read about important news and announcements. In addition, the "Have a Question?" link makes it easy to contact Member Service when further assistance is needed.

STRATHAM PHYSICAL THERAPY, a local physical therapy clinic, recently celebrated the expansion of its operation with the opening of a newer, larger facility at 64 Portsmouth Avenue.

Formerly, Stratham Physical Therapy operated from a location at 118 Portsmouth Ave., and recently hosted a grand opening event to showcase its newer, larger facilities. The expanded location contains 3,400 square feet of space, according to Joe Dattilo, the practice's director of treatment.

State Sen. Maggie Hassan, along with Speaker of The New Hampshire House Of Representatives Doug Scamman and his wife, Rep. Stella Scamman, were among the guests who came to the grand opening to wish the owners well in their new location.

BIG ISLAND GRANITE has recently opened in Exeter. It fabricates stone counter tops, vanities, and fireplace surrounds. The company is often able to provide installation within two weeks, and every installation comes with a two-year warranty at no additional charge. Alternatives, including the many varieties of "engineered stone," are often more expensive and cannot approach the beauty of the real thing.

GRUBB & ELLIS | COLDSTREAM REAL ESTATE ADVISORS, INC. of Portsmouth represented MNM Realty, LLC in its purchase of a 13,596 square foot, three-story, mixed-use building located at 5 Batchelder Road in Seabrook. David Choate of Grubb & Ellis|Coldstream represented the buyer and Karin Leonard of Leonard, Lee & Company of Amherst represented the seller, LRS Investment Trust.

Grubb & Ellis|Coldstream Real Estate Advisors, Inc. also represented the Auburn School District in its purchase of 60.2 acres of land from the Dollard Irrevocable Trust on Route 102 in Auburn. Auburn, which is part of School Administrative Unit 15, purchased the property as a possible site for an elementary or middle school. David Choate and Hugo Overdeput of Grubb & Ellis|Coldstream assisted Auburn in searching for and negotiating the transaction for the selected property, which was purchased for $650,000 according to the Rockingham County Registry of Deeds.

BUSY BEE JANITORIAL SERVICES INC. has moved to a new location at 24 Crosby Road in Dover. It was founded in 1967 by Michael J. Dolan, Sr. In 1988, his son Michael J. Dolan became company president and grew the business into one of the largest locally based janitorial companies in the Seacoast region. Over the past year, the company has grown from 40 to nearly 100 employees and serves many large and small businesses throughout New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont.

BRESETTE + COMPANY of Portsmouth has chosen Portsmouth-based Compass Care, a nonprofit eldercare agency, to receive pro bono marketing services. Jim White, director of broadcast for Bresette + Company, is creating a video with testimonials from the Compass Care board members, staff, family caregivers, and community leaders in elder care. In addition to the creation of the new video, there will be a new service brochure developed, and significant updates to the existing Compass Care Web site.

CALYPSO COMMUNICATIONS of Portsmouth will implement a strategic communications program for GoffWilson, a top-ranked immigration law firm based in Concord. GoffWilson has retained Calypso to help communicate the firm's mission to provide efficient and affordable immigration law services to financial, high-tech, hospitality, and health care industries. Calypso will secure local and national media coverage, create a print advertising campaign, assist with speech writing, and support GoffWilson's corporate communications and market development efforts.

THE COMMISSION ON ACCREDITATION OF REHABILITATION FACILITIES has granted a second three-year accreditation to GREAT BAY SERVICES of Newington for its community employment services. This accreditation outcome represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization's substantial conformance to the standards established by CARF, an international organization founded in 1966. Great Bay Services is a nonprofit organization that has been providing services to people with developmental disabilities in the Portsmouth, Dover, Rochester, N.H. and York, Maine area since 1954.

ALLIED HOME MORTGAGE CAPITAL CORPORATION has opened a new branch in Portsmouth, its first one in the city and the sixth in the state. Longtime Seacoast resident John Frodyma will be the branch manager. He has more than 12 years of experience in the mortgage banking industry and was formerly a mortgage officer with Sovereign Bank. Frodyma lives in Stratham with his wife, daughter and two golden retrievers. He is the host of "Mortgage Matters," a radio show heard on WGIR 610, 930 and 1540 every Saturday morning.

New to the Lower Level of the Cochecho Mill, 383 Central Avenue, in Dover is GRANITE BAY WEALTH MANAGEMENT, LLC. certified financial planners and managing partners Joseph R. Skees, registered principal, and Paul S. Stanley, along with Vice President Nathaniel B. Cary and Operations Manager Alisha Robert, bring their many years of experience to provide investment products and services to the businesses and individuals in the Dover area.

A teacher with more than 20 years of early childhood education experience, LINDA FISKE has opened her MOTHER'S OR FATHER'S DAY OUT NANNY business in Dover. Providing in-your-home care for infants to pre-schoolers, and focusing on educational activities, Fiske also offers after-school help for 6- to 12-year-olds.

SEACOAST HARLEY-DAVIDSON in North Hampton and APPLEDORE ENGINEERING in Portsmouth were honored in the small company "Best Companies to Work For" category by Business NH Magazine and NH Businesses for Social Responsibility. For Seacoast Harley-Davidson, which has 66 employees, the honor marked the sixth time the dealership has made the list. Appledore also was honored as a best company to work for in 2002, 2003, and 2005. It was founded in 1987 and has 23 employees and was named earlier the top professional services company in the state by New Hampshire Business Review. Appledore was also selected earlier this year as the top Best Small Civil Engineering Firm in the Country to Work For by CE News, a leading Civil Engineering publication.

TMS ARCHITECTS of Portsmouth received the National Preservation Honor Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation for its work on the renovation of Wentworth-by-the-Sea Hotel located in New Castle. TMS Architects was co-nominated for the award with the owners of the hotel, Ocean Properties, Ltd., the Friends of the Wentworth, and the Town of New Castle. This is TMS Architects' first national award. The award was presented to the firm during a recent ceremony at the National Preservation Conference in Pittsburgh.

KENNEBUNK SAVINGS BANK of Kennebunk, Maine, recently received a national award from America's Community Bankers. Kim Michaels, communications associate for America's Community Bankers, congratulated the bank on winning in the "Helping to Achieve Homeownership" category, one of only two banks selected nationwide. The award was presented at the national America's Community Bankers annual convention in San Diego, Calif. As a winner of one of the awards, Lorraine Boston, executive vice president for commercial services, was chosen to meet and have lunch with keynote speaker Ted Koppel, formerly of ABC News and now with the Discovery Channel.
