PORT CITY WEB an eCommerce design, development and online marketing company in Portsmouth said its longtime client, MY SHOE STORE (formerly Lord John's Footwear), has extended its contract with Port City Web for another 30 months. Port City said the contract is valued at an estimated $1.5 million dollars over the term of the new contract.

New York-based Lord John's Footwear, a customer of Port City Web since 2003, was recently acquired by Greenland-based My Shoe Store, Inc. My Shoe Store took over the contract that Port City Web had with Lord John's Footwear and extended it until the late spring of 2009.

"I'm thrilled that the contract was extended for another couple of years," said ERIK CRAGO, president and CEO of Port City Web. "This has been a great opportunity for us to grow into all aspects of eCommerce, which has taught us very valuable lessons on writing our eCommerce software. It's one thing to be a software development company implementing eCommerce software, but to witness how it's used from an operations and customer service standpoint -- that changes everything. Not a day goes by that we don't add a new feature, modify an existing feature, or just make the user or employee experience that much better."

Over the course of the last 12 months, Port City Web has been working closely with both companies as they integrated the eCommerce platform with both Lord John's Footwear and My Shoe Store's eCommerce websites.

"With almost 300,000 orders and customers, and millions of dollars per year in annual sales, downtime was not an option," Crago said. "We needed to develop a strategy to implement the two sites for the eventual transitioning to My Shoe Store's site, and we couldn't have any downtime. The end result was a smooth transition, with both sites sharing the same data in real-time."

While this transition was taking place, Port City Web also maintained its contractual obligations to market both Web sites through SEM (Search Engine Marketing) and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) programs, along with paid placements in Google and Yahoo.

Combined, both companies said they had an increase of 25 percent in December 2006 online sales compared to the previous holiday shopping period.

"It's been a great experience working with them from the early days of Lord John's Footwear opening its doors in New York City, to the merge with My Shoe Store in New Hampshire," Crago said. "We continually work with them to increase their sales, improve customer service, and use technology to improve their overall business practices. And as they grow, so grows Port City Web."

GLACIER CONCEPT of Portsmouth is offering a free download version of its Leverage Personal Edition software, which the company said helps individual investors in real estate to maximize profitability and to better negotiate with lenders and brokers when purchasing rental and commercial properties or homes.

The software informs the user what is negotiable -- for example, lender loan costs and interest fixed versus floating.

"Investors in real estate can compare lenders side by side in a number of areas that influence either lender profit, investors' capital, investors' cash flow, investors' profitability, or investors' return rate using financing scenarios", says founder LARRY MCKAY. Those items include interest over the life of the loan, loan costs, loan to value requirements, interest rates, and debt service requirements. The Glacier Concept founders are alumni of MIT and Brown University. 3-D graphs and charts make the software fun like playing a video game.

Glacier Conept claims Leverage Personal Edition is easy for beginners who do not have prior experience in real estate investing to increase their personal financial wealth. Real estate investors can compare financing options from different lenders side by side and/or properties side-by-side to make the better choice (e.g. Bank of America vs. Wells Fargo) or (PropertyA vs. PropertyB). It makes it easy to shop around to make the real estate investment decision most profitable.
