EXETER HEALTH RESOURCES has donated $100,000 to FAMILIES FIRST HEALTH AND SUPPORT CENTER to help the agency provide health care to uninsured and low-income patients.
Families First provides primary, prenatal and oral health care, as well as parenting and family programs, to 5,000 Seacoast residents each year. About one-third of them live in Exeter and other towns in Exeter Hospital's area.
"With this gift, Exeter Hospital is demonstrating its recognition of Families First as a partner in the mission we both share "" providing health care for every community member, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay," said Families First Executive Director Helen Taft.
In addition to the recent $100,000 gift and two earlier gifts to Families First totaling $75,000, Exeter Health Resources supports Families First by lending a medical van for the mobile Health Care for the Homeless program to use in Hampton every Tuesday and sponsoring the "Artists of the Seacoast" calendar and Hunt for Health scavenger hunt fund-raiser.

As part of their expansion plans, AAA OF NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND has leased a 3,000-square-foot retail building at Tri-City Plaza in Somersworth from CENTRO WATT. Vanessa Rozier of THE KANE COMPANY represented the tenant.
People suffering from the potentially precancerous esophageal condition known as Barrett's esophagus will have access to a technologically advanced form of treatment through SEACOAST GASTROENTEROLOGY, which is based at EXETER HOSPITAL. The hospital's new BARRX HALO system allows for the safe and minimally invasive removal of Barrett's esophagus. The procedure is performed in under an hour on an outpatient basis. Seacoast Gastroenterology will be the first gastrointestinal practice north of Boston to offer this procedure.
John Dowd, D.O., one of four board-certified gastrointestinal specialists at Seacoast Gastroenterology, said, "We're excited to have a technology that allows us to safely and precisely destroy the affected tissue, and pave the way for healthy tissue to grow in its place""without any incisions."

Attorney David Wolowitz of the law firm of MCLANE, GRAF, RAULERSON & MIDDLETON, presented four area high school students with the Harvard Prize Book Award on behalf of the Harvard-Radcliffe Club of New Hampshire.
The prize is awarded to an outstanding student in the junior class who combines excellence in scholarship, high character, and achievement in other fields. Students are nominated by their school's administration during their junior year.
This year's Seacoast area winners are upcoming seniors Elizaveta Minko of Oyster River High School; Brittany LaFleur of Dover High School; Mark Loh of Exeter High School; and Timothy Welch of Portsmouth High School. Each of the students received a copy of the book entitled, "Making the Most of College."
Wolowitz is a director at the law firm's Portsmouth office and was the first to introduce the program to Seacoast schools, where he has been honoring students for more than 20 years.
Patti Visconte, associate broker with THE MASIELLO GROUP COMMERCIAL ASSOCIATES, has announced the sale of 30 Green St. in Newburyport, Mass., for $1,6 million. The commercially zoned federalist mansion has 9, 835 square feet of mixed office space and separate residential units in the carriage house.
