TOP DRAWER BOUTIQUE of Exeter, owned and operated by Deanna Tinios and Deborah Robb, is celebrating a very successful first year by supporting other women who are looking for new starts in the workforce. The business owners shipped out a donation of bras to Dress for Success in Concord, an organization that 'suits women for self sufficiency' by providing economically disadvantaged women with career-wear to enter the workplace with confidence and success. Top Drawer's initial donation to the organization of 68 bras had a total value of close to $2,000. The business owners are looking forward to donating more undergarments to Dress for Success and have also offered to train staff members on proper bra fitting techniques, to ensure that the recipients receive the best fitting bra possible.
JOHN B. SULLIVAN JR. CORP. of Bedford recently completed a 16,800-square-foot interior fit-up for PORTSMOUTH REGIONAL HOSPITAL, which will occupy the entire third floor of the Millennium Borthwick Medical Office Building. The medical office space will become the new home of oncology exam suites, 13 chemotherapy stations, a diabetes resource suite, a pharmacy, and physician offices. MICHAEL KANE, JAY FINNEGAN, and ERIC KATZ are building owners. JSA ARCHITECTS of Portsmouth, PALMER & SICARD, MECHANICAL CONTRACTORS and MARTINEAU ELECTRICAL also provided services to the project.
CHRISTOPHER BROWN, a PAX WORLD BALANCED FUND portfolio manager based in Portsmouth, recently appeared on Consuelo Mack/WealthTrack, the new weekly public television program that focuses on long-term, diversified investing. Brown discussed Pax World's approach to socially responsible investing, which the founders of Pax World created in 1971.
CB RICHARD ELLIS/NEW ENGLAND announced that DRESSER WAYNE has leased 6,000 sqaure feet of warehouse space at 22 Marin Way in Stratham. Dresser Wayne manufactures retail and commercial petroleum fuel dispensers and maintains significant operations in Brazil, China, and Italy (through Wayne Pignone), and additional offices throughout the world. Kent White of CB Richard Ellis/New England represented the landlord in this transaction. Peter Billip of The Kane Company represented the Tenant.
SPRAGUE ENERGY has been certified as a biodiesel provider by the NATIONAL BIODIESEL BOARD. The board certified Sprague's ability to provide biodiesel fuel that meets or exceeds industry standards for low sulfur diesel fuel and heating oil. Sprague began offering biodiesel fuel, a blend of soybean derived biodiesel and diesel fuel, at its Rensselaer, N.Y., terminal in March. Sprague, a wholly owned subsidiary of Swedish-based Axel Johnson Inc., has opened a second biodiesel terminal in Oceanside, N.Y., and is planning others.
SERVICE CREDIT UNION recently opened a new full-service branch inside the Manchester Wal-Mart, the third of seven branches planned to open in New Hampshire Wal-Mart stores over the next 12 months. Future branch locations inside Wal-Mart stores include Rochester, Portsmouth, Hooksett, and Hillsborough.
MARGA COULP, BRANDI ACKERMAN and JESSE PRATT of CLASSIC CUTTERS of Portsmouth attended a three day class in French haircutting, a technique popular in Europe that is now avalible in Portsmouth. French haircutting technique is a system for creating artistic precision, cutting with speed and consistency, allowing hair to fall seamlessly from the scalp.
In an effort to provide better service and to continue to keep busy Americans fueled and on the go, DUNKIN' DONUTS has renovated and reopened the 1976 Woodbury Ave. restaurant in Portsmouth as one of the first "new concept" locations nationwide. The newly renovated shop offes new beverage and bakery products developed by the Dunkin' Donuts Culinary Team.
AWARDS
CHURCHILL'S of Exeter has won the PROVEN WINNERS 2006 DESTINATION CONTEST for its division. Garden centers all over North America participated in the competition and winners were awarded $1,000 and were featured in Today's Garden Center Magazine and on the Proven Winners Web site.
FOOT NOTES STUDIO OF DANCE of Exeter owner SUE WHITE was recently named "Dance Hero of the Year" by New York-Los Angeles Dance of New York City. The award is given to honor a student, teacher, guest artist, or dance lover for the amazing love, hardwork and sacrifices that go into making dance possible for everyone. White was nominated last winter by a letter submitted from one of her students.
