INFINITE IMAGING, leaders in professional digital printing, opened a new retail store on the Miracle Mile in Dover, at 903 Central Ave., on Oct. 2. The Dover facility includes a new service bay that will allow Infinite Imaging to offer vehicle wraps and vehicle lettering for automobiles and trucks. The Dover store is the fourth facility in the Seacoast area to open under the Infinite Imaging name and represents a $200,000 investment. Bill Hurley, Infinite Imaging president, noted that like the three other Infinite Imaging outlets, this new retail store offers state-of-the art digital imaging equipment with sophisticated business services that are run by local, experienced and friendly print industry professionals. Glen Fieldsend of Rochester is the manager of the Dover store.
The LINDEMANN CONCERN of Boston, has merged with Portsmouth-based Calypso Communications. John Lindemann, principal of The Lindemann Concern, will serve as Calypso’s new vice president of client services and as a senior consultant to Calypso clients. “Bringing the two companies together makes sense for us and for our respective clients,” said Kevin Stickney who, along with Paul Young, founded Calypso six years ago. Since 1989, The Lindemann Concern has managed communication strategies for clients facing complex challenges, often related to environmental and land-use issues.
EMMITH BUSINESS SOLUTIONS, established in Newburyport in 2002, has opened a second office at 680 Lafayette Road in Hampton. EBS is a provider of outsourced business services including bookkeeping needs, database creation and repair, as well as hourly or monthly support at one of their offices or at yours. EBS is an Authorized QuickBooks Affiliate Vendor as well an Intuit Authorized QuickBooks Training Center. Trainings are scheduled in either a classroom setting or one-on-one.
THE MEAT HOUSE opened a sixth store located at 291 South Broadway in Salem. With locations throughout the Seacoast and southern Maine, The Meat House has established a reputation for providing quality products and service.
Foot and ankle surgeon JENNIFER SARTORI has opeed a podiatric care office in the Pease International Tradeport, 14 Manchester Square, Suite 250. Dr. Sartori uses state-of -the-art equipment, such as digital x-rays, and interventions to provide treatment and relief of foot and ankle pain. She is also trained in shockwave therapy for heel pain. She is a graduate of Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia and completed her surgical residency at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Conn. She is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, an associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and is also board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
JOSEPH BISHOP of HURLBERT TOYOTA in Stratham has been certified as a Toyota Truck Champion after completing four days of specialized training on the 2007 Toyota Tundra at the Toyota truck manufacturing plant in Princeton, Ind. Led by truck industry experts from across the nation, these sessions provided Bishop with the latest in truck business management techniques, an in-depth technical vehicle immersion and an unprecedented “behind-the-scenes” tour of plant operations.
The BULFINCH FAMILY OFFICE has opened under the leadership of Rye Beach resident Joseph Guyton at 87 Lafayette Road, in the Shopper’s Village, Hampton Falls. The office specializes in designing lifetime systems to accumulate and access wealth on a tax advantaged basis. The Bulfinch Family Office is an affiliate of The Bulfinch Group, an insurance and investment firm headquartered in Needham, Mass. The Bulfinch Group is a general agency of The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, New York, NY.
NORTHEAST CREDIT UNION held a groundbreaking ceremony for its newest branch, which will be in Lee. The one-story, 2,880-square-foot building will open in the spring of 2007 and will feature a drive-up ATM and four drive-up teller lanes. It will be a full-service branch, offering services such as new account openings, deposit services, and a full range of mortgages, consumer loans and small business offerings and will be located at 146 Steppingstones Road and the intersection of Route 125. Construction will be provided by Jewett Construction Company, Inc.
PETTIGREW PLUMBING & HEATING, LLC of Portsmouth was awarded the contract for plumbing and heating services with the CITY OF PORTSMOUTH. The company has also been awarded remodeling contracts with Wal-Mart of Seabrook and Wal-Mart of Newington.
PATRICE G. SWEET of STUNNING SPACES of York, Maine, was featured on a panel of staging experts at a recent meeting of Interior Redesigners and Stagers in Milford, Mass. Sweet is a certified interior redesigner who has staged numerous homes in the Seacoast area.
THE BANK OF AMERICA CHARITABLE FOUNDATION recently awarded a $15,000 grant to SEACARE HEALTH SERVICES to assist non-profit agency in helping low-income families living in the Seacoast area gain access to medical care through a volunteer network of health care providers. More than 370 primary and specialty physicians, nurse practitioners, mental health therapists, dentists and chiropractors volunteer their time to deliver health services to SeaCare participants for little or no cost and have donated health care products and services of more than $8 million dollars to date.
SUSAN FULLER, president of the SEACOAST BOARD OF REALTORS, recently presented a $5,000 check for NEW HAMPSHIRE FLOOD RELIEF efforts. The National Association of Realtors challenged every state association to contribute $75,000 to support Hurricane Relief efforts in New Orleans. The monies were to be collected in time for the NAR’s Annual Convention there in November. The N.H. Association of Realtors decided instead to raise $75,000 for New Hampshire flood relief victims, many of whom are still homeless.
PAMELA BATES, owner of the communications firm SPEAKEASY of Exeter, has completed a variety of projects for New Hampshire businesses including a press kit for Top Drawer, a lingerie/bra boutique located in Exeter. Speakeasy also finalized identity design and collateral for Spoerl & Strathern, ltd. a real estate firm located in Exeter and Debra Gilligan, a licensed certified mental health counselor in Portsmouth, and collateral for Israel River Campground in Jefferson. Additionally, Stratham Circle Learning Center engaged Speakeasy’s services to establish a logo for the new child care/pre-school facility.
The SEACOAST BOARD OF REALTORS elected new officers and a new BOARD OF DIRECTORS to take office in 2007. ADAM MARKHAM, executive director of CLEAN AIR-COOL PLANET of Portsmouth was among the leading scientists and experts on climate change who presented at the recent “Climate Change: Prospects for Nature” international symposium at the New York Botanical Garden in New York City.
A home designed by TMS ARCHITECTS of Portsmouth was featured in both the September/October issue of NEW ENGLAND HOME MAGAZINE and the latest edition of New England Cable News’s “New England Dream House” television show. Both media outlets selected the 23,500 square-foot house on Lake Winnipesaukee for its luxurious design, complex architecture and stunning features. It was designed by TMS Architects principal William Soupcoff.
ATLANTIC MANAGEMENT COMPANY, a Portsmouth-based valuation and financial advisory firm, has hired BRESETTE + COMPANY to provide strategic planning. Atlantic Management has chosen Bresette to conduct this strategic planning and consultation process as the initial step in larger business and marketing initiatives.
LEADERSHIP NEW HAMPSHIRE, which selects, trains and builds a network of leaders for the state of New Hampshire, has chosen 35 associates for its Class of 2007 who began their 10-month training process in September. The Seacoast region particpants include: From Portsmouth, TIM ALLISON, senior director of resource development with the United Way of the Greater Seacoast and CHRIS COLE, attorney and partner Sheehan, Phinney, Bass + Green; From Rochester, MATT MOWRY, editor, Business NH Magazine; and from Dover, BETSEY ANDREWS PARKER, executive director of the Northern Strafford County Health and Safety Council.

The HAMPTON AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE has formally endorsed a partnership with Patriot Healthcare, Northeast Delta Dental, Genworth Financial and CBA/EBPA to offer an employee benefits program to their members. The program includes health insurance from Patriot Healthcare; dental insurance from Northeast Delta Dental; life, long-term and short-term disability, and dental from Genworth Financial; and third party administration will be handled by CBA/EBPA. This program will only be available to chamber members and will be sold by brokers who are active members in their local chamber.
JEWETT CONSTRUCTION of Raymond recently completed construction of a 2,400-square-food branch facility for Seacoast Credit Union on Epping Road in Exeter. The wood, colonial style structure includes a customer lobby, four teller lines, three offices, vault, 24-hour ATM, and three drive-through lanes. The exterior includes extensive wood trim details and a cupola topped with a clipper ship copper weathervane.
OPECHEE CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION of Belmont has been awarded the contract to design and construct a 14,616-square-foot, single-story motorcycle dealership for SEACOAST HARLEY-DAVIDSON, Inc., of North Hampton. The building will be located at 7 Crane Dr. in Rochester, just off Route 11.
AWARDS/RECOGNITIONS
GENTLE GIANT MOVING COMPANY in Portsmouth won the International Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics from the National Council of Better Business Bureaus, selected from among more than 1,000 contenders across North America. This is their first international and national award, making this honor extremely rewarding for the company. Their last member company of the New England Better Business Bureau to win this national award was Jordan’s Furniture in 1997.
AUTOWORKS, INC. of Kittery, owned by Stephen Kosacz, was recently named the Best AAA Approved Auto Repair Facility in Maine. Chris Leone, AAA’s representative for southern Maine and New Hampshire, presented the award to the Autoworks team, saying “AAA is proud to have an extraordinarily consistent facility as part of our Approved Automotive Repair program. It is rare to find shops that have overwhelmingly proven their integrity and competence in a broad range of services to which we can confidently refer motorist.” The service shop is currently celebrating its 30th anniversary in Kittery.
R. VAN BALLANTYNE, EA, MBA, ATP owner of Fiducial Small Business Services in Greenland, received the 2006 Franchisee of the Year Award at the Sixth Annual Convention in Chicago. Acknowledged during a special meeting of the international convention, Ballantyne was honored by Howard Margolis, Fiducial’s director of sales and marketing, and received his special award from Christian Latouche, Fiducial’s worldwide chairman and CEO.
The UNIVERSITY OF NEW HAMPSHIRE recently recognized five interns and their sponsors for their money-saving pollution prevention work. Stephanie Grainger of Londonderry helped Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials in Marlboro, Mass., save about $25,000 annually with a process the company now uses to purify used acetone so it can be reused in cleaning processes. Andrew Phyllides of Concord worked at the N.H. Department of Environmental Services as the Pollution Prevention Intern Coordinator . Andrew Avery of Canterbury, Conn. helped Sermatech International’s Manchester, Conn. plant reduce and maximize the return on waste in its thermal spray department through recycling.Christopher Hikel of Bedford saved the Freudenberg-NOK plant in Bristol an estimated $70,000 annually by insulating high pressure steam lines and fuel tanks in the company’s boiler system. Dmitri Tsentalovich of Atkinson saved C.I.L Metal Finishing in Lawrence, Mass. $40,000-$100,000 annually by streamlining the company’s electroplating and anodizing processes.
CREATIVE CO-OP of Portsmouth won first prize at the AMERICAN BANKERS ASSOCIATION 2006 FINANCIAL MARKETING EXCELLENCE AWARDS held recently in Chicago. The company received the award for an integrated marketing campaign it developed for client Community Bank of Tri-County of Waldorf, Md. Creative Co-op received First Prize in the Customer Retention Marketing category for an integrated campaign developed to promote Community Bank of Tri-County IRA accounts. Campaign materials featured old high school yearbook photos.
JOHN RICE of Tate and Foss, Inc. in Rye and JUDY WILLIAMS, broker-owner of Judy Williams Real Estate in Raymond, were honored as two of 14 local REALTORS OF THE YEAR at The Balsams Grand Resort and Hotel, where the New Hampshire Association of Realtors held its annual fall convention. Rice, the Seacoast Board of Realtors honoree, is vice president of the Seacoast board after having served two years as treasurer and several years as a director. He is a veteran of his board’s Professional Standards Committee and Finance Committee and currently sits on the Bylaws Committee. Williams, the Granite State South Board of Realtors honoree, has been a Realtor since 1986 and has since served on various local and state committees, including as president of the Granite State South board.

The EXETER AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE recently welcomed SPOERL AND STRATHERN REAL ESTATE, Ltd. with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the firm’s location in Exeter’s historic district. Spoerl and Strathern Real Estate partners Bob Spoerl and Dave and Mary Strathern will specialize in the buying and selling of real estate in the local area. Spoerl has sold real estate in the Seacoast area for over 10 years. A graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy, he has been an Exeter resident of for 46 years. The Stratherns bring more than 25 years of sales and marketing experience to the company. They have resided in Exeter for over 5 years, are actively involved in the community.
The HAMPTON AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE celebrated the opening of POTTERY AT YOUR PLACE, THE STUDIO recently. Pottery at Your Place, The Studio, located at 70 High St., Hampton, is a contemporary ceramics studio where time can be spent with friends and family painting pottery, beads, and more. It also offers workshops for children and adults as well as events throughout the year. The PYP Studio is always available for birthday parties and other events.
