Dr. Jennifer Sartori has opened a new podiatric care office at Pease International Tradeport. Sartori uses state-of -the-art equipment, such as digital X-rays, and interventions to provide treatment and relief of foot and ankle pain. She is also trained in shockwave therapy for heel pain. Sartori is a graduate of Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia. She is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, an associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and is also board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.

Paul A. Kinnaly, a Morgan Stanley wealth adviser, completed an investment consulting training program conducted jointly by Morgan Stanley and Investment Management Consultants Association. Kinnaly is a certified financial planner practitioner and a chartered financial consultant and has been with Morgan Stanley since 2000. He lives in Hampton Falls with his wife and two children.

Curt Sylvia, general sales manager of Dover Auto World graduated from General Manager Candidate School of the National Automobile Dealers Association. Sylvia, who has over 20 years experience in automotive sales, started in the service department, then went on to selling cars for several years before graduating to finance manager. He resides in Lee and has been with Dover Auto World since 2004.

Depot Energy, LLC, of Kingston, a home heating oil and kerosene company, has opened for business and will be serving customers in Rockingham and Belknap counties, along with Merrimack and Essex counties in Massachusetts. Joyce Goddard is the operations manager.

Joseph Bishop of Hurlbert Toyota of Stratham has been certified as a Toyota Truck Champion. Bishop received the certification after completing four days of specialized training on the 2007 Toyota Tundra at the Toyota truck manufacturing plant in Princeton, Ind. The Truck Champion initiiative is the latest in a series of efforts to make trucks and truck selling a focal point of Toyota dealership operations nationwide.

The engineering firm Wright-Pierce of Portsmouth was selected to the 2006 Circle of Excellence sponsored by Professional Services Management Journal Resources, Inc., the architectural/engineering/construction industry’s leading management training and consulting firm. The honor recognizes the top 40 architectural and engineering firms in the country. Wright-Pierce has been providing water, wastewater and civil infrastructure services to public and private clients for 60 years. Wright-Pierce has offices in Portsmouth, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Vermont.

Heyland Development has just completed a new executive office building at 1950 Lafayette Road in Portsmouth. Erik Heyland, president of Heyland Development has been land planning and developing since 1988. Rick Wesley, vice president, has been in sales and marketing for the past 15 years.

A new, 6-month culinary program for professionals developed by Chef Ron Boucher has just been endorsed by the American Culinary Federation Foundation for excellence in culinary education. Boucher is the foudner and owner of Chez Boucher French cooking school. In addition, the program has been awarded the ACFF Educational Assurance award for quality culinary art education. The American Culinary Federation, Inc, is the premier professional chefs’ organization in North America, with more then 240 chapters nationwide and 19,000 members.

Pure Barnyard, Inc., of Portsmouth, home of Cockadoodle DOO Organic Lawn and Garden products, was featured recently in the small business report segment on the CNBC Morning Call show. The show, hosted by Michelle Caruso-Cabrera, had guest Wall Street Journal columnist Gwendolyn Bounds on to discuss the organic lawn care market. Bounds referred to Pure Barnyard as “one company to watch” in the rapidly growing organic lawn care space that has a small company doing battle with giant chemical fertilizer companies like Scotts-Miracle Grow.

Coastal Family Birth Retreat at 13 Frying Pan Lane, Stratham, the first free-standing birth center in the Seacoast area, is welcoming women of childbearing age for midwifery care. Coastal Family Birth Retreat will offer both birthing center and homebirth midwifery services. The birthing home, privately located , offers two fully equipped birthing suites, each with its own heated birth pool. Newmarket native Paul Robichaud was named Rite Aid’s regional vice president of the year at the company’s annual management conference and supplier exhibition in Anaheim, Calif. Robichaud oversees 177 stores in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Connecticut. For 21 years, Robichaud has served Rite Aid as a manager trainee, store manager, district manager, market manager and regional vice-president.

Tom Fairchild, longtime University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension dairy specialist and 4-H supporter, received the Friend of 4-H Award at the state meeeting of the 4-H Foundation in Canterbury. A 1959 UNH graduate, Fairchild spent his career at the university. Over the years he served as an Extension dairy specialist, a UNH professor, chairperson of the Department of Animal and Nutritional Sciences, dean of the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture, and interim UNH president. He was instrumental in leading the fund-raising effort to build the $1.6 million dairy teaching and research center, which UNH named the Thomas P. Fairchild Dairy Teaching and Research Center in his honor.

Ann Kelley, broker-owner of Realty Executives of the Seacoast, and John Rice of Tate and Foss, Inc. in Rye, were honored as two of 14 local Realtors of the Year at The Balsams Grand Resort and Hotel, where the N. H. Association of Realtors held its annual fall convention. Kelley, the Strafford County Board of Realtors honoree, has been a Realtor since 1986 and has served as president of her local board for the last two years. She has also served five years as a director for the Northern New England Real Estate Network and three as an NHAR director. Rice, the Seacoast Board of Realtors honoree, is vice president of the Seacoast board after having served two years as treasurer and several years as a director. He is a veteran of his board’s Professional Standards Committee and Finance Committee and currently sits on the Bylaws Committee.

Al Silva and Tom Karpowicz of Billboard Connection in Greenland were recently presented with four major marketing awards at the 2006 Sign*A*Rama World Expo in San Antonio, Texas. Awards presented were the 1st Pioneer Award, Largest Contract, $10K and $20K Monthly Invoicing. Billboard Connection is in its first year of business and all contracts were negotiated with Mary Anne Carpenter of CBS/Outdoor in Bow.

Karen Drelick, owner of Rejuvenations Professional Massage, LLC, of Stratham, was awarded the Business Excellence Award for Excellence in Health Care. The statewide award ceremony was sponsored by New Hampshire Business Review and held recently in Bedford. Drelick was acknowledged for her work with local physicians, physical therapists chiropractors and the general public.

Appledore Engineering, Inc. of Portsmouth was recognized by national civil engineering magazine, CE NEWS as the Best Small Civil Engineering Company (under 100 employees) to work for in the United States and Third Best Civil Engineering Firm to Work For overall in the country. Gregg M. Mikolaities, president, received both awards on behalf of Appledore from CE NEWS. Appledore Engineering was founded in 1987 and provides site design, permitting and construction administration services for commercial, educational, office, industrial and residential projects throughout the Eastern Seaboard.

RIBBON CUTTING

The grand opening and ribbon cutting for Portsmouth Haircare & Day Spa was held on Nov. 16. “My goal is to make our spa a fun place to visit and work,” says new owner and entrepreneur Mary Weisheit, who began her spa career in 1994 as a massage therapist in Florida. She worked and trained at several world class resorts and spas, including the Disney Palace in Orlando and The Breakers in Palm Beach. Portsmouth Haircare & Day Spa features Bumble & Bumble hair care, Goldwell color, Decleor skin care, and Glymed’s Dermasound Clinical Skin treatment system. The spa is located at 55 Congress St., Portsmouth.
